map north face
Left The meeting house and adult school hall viewed from Taberner House. Centre Site marked by the narrow red rectangle between the flyover and the Fairfield Halls roundabout. Above right East and north sides of the meeting house. The main entrance (concealed from view by the notice boards) is on the east side, opposite the police station.

Croydon Quaker Meeting House was built in 1957 to replace an earlier one on the same site destroyed during the war. Attached to it is the Adult School Hall, a Grade II listed building designed in the Arts and Crafts tradition and dating from 1908.

Both buildings are available for hire at reasonable rates to social, educational, business, religious, legal and other recognised bodies.

They are suitable for such activities as arts and drama, dance, music, yoga, pilates, lectures, counselling, and other uses that do not conflict with Quaker principles. Please note that no smoking or alcohol are allowed on the premises.

There are parking spaces for two vehicles per hiring.

Meeting House, ground floor
The Main Hall can accommodate up to 150 persons. It has a wood block floor, a hearing loop, and a piano.
The common room is suitable for small groups of up to 30. It has chairs and tables, and a hatch opens on to the kitchen.
The kitchen has facilities for preparing hot and cold refreshments (and for washing up afterwards).

Meeting House, first floor
The East Room, overlooking Park Lane and the police station, is suitable for groups of 50-60. It is carpeted. There are plenty of chairs, and lightweight folding trestle tables are available.
The West room, overlooking the Unitarian Church, is similar to the East Room, and has a piano.
The Friends Room has eight comfortable chairs, is carpeted, and suitable for small committee meetings. As its name implies, priority is accorded to local Quaker activities.
